The Neuroscience of Empathy and Compassion

Relationships between individuals are the fabric of human civilization. These relationships are powerfully influenced by our empathy and compassion for each other. Recently, substantial progress has been made in understanding the neurobiological basis of empathy and compassion.

The Neuroscience of Empathy and Compassion Conference brings together leading scientists who have all contributed to elucidating various facets of empathy and compassion, their neural correlates and functions. Read more about our SPEAKERS and the PROGRAMME in the menue above.

This conference is aimed at the neuroscience community, psychologists, and healthcare professionals, as well as researchers in social sciences and the humanities. Participation in the conference is free of charge.

The Neuroscience of Empathy and Compassion Conference is supported by the Segerfalk Foundation, and by the Birgit Rausing Foundation for Medical Humanities. It is organized by the Birgit Rausing Centre for Medical Humanities.

Luncheon will not be provided by the conference organisers, but there are many lovely lunch places in the immediate surroundings, please see information on our LUND page in the menue above. The lunch break is 1,5 hours long.
