Projects

During the conference, three urban development projects will be presented. Here is a short introduction to them:

Sino Nordic Promotion Association for Green Sustainable Development

A unique collaboration between the Nordics and China

The Nordic China Smart City Conference in Stockholm on March 26-28 will present an extremely promising collaboration platform for Nordic companies, cities and institutions with China. Concrete business opportunities, both in the fields of smart city development and sustainable health care will be presented by the influential China Green Sustainable Development Association of China*.

At the conference the Sino-Nordic platform for cooperation, named SNPA (Sino Nordic Promotion Association for Green Sustainable Development) will be launched. This encompasses three concrete new urban development projects in China where Nordic competences and sustainable technology will be promoted.

Besides sustainable urban development, four other areas of collaboration between China and the Nordics are included in the platform:

- Sustainable healthcare
- Sustainable education
- Sustainable industry
- Sustainable financing

An action plan and the management structure for the SNPA cooperation will be presented at the conference in March.

* China Green Sustainable Development Association (CGSDA) is currently funded by China Urban-townization Promotion Council (CUPC) and China Science and Technology System Reform Institute (CSTSRI). Affiliated institutions of the China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Natural Resources, Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, National Health Commission and other related government agencies are joining CGSDA gradually.

The mission of CGSDA are to promote international cooperation and implement green sustainable development in China so as to support the United Nation’s 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and coordinate influential institutions of Nordic countries to co-establish the Sino-Nordic Promotion Association for Green Sustainable Development (SNPA).

Hammarby Sjöstad Yantai

Opportunities for Nordic suppliers to be part of a large Swedish-Chinese Eco City project.

In March this year, the Swedish-Chinese real estate developer White Peak will start the development of a 4.6 square km large new urban development called Hammarby Sjöstad Yantai. The project, located in the centre of Yantai, the second largest city in the prosperous Shandong province is financed by Swedish investors and will have a distinct Nordic identity. Sweco Architects is responsible for the planning and design of the two first phases, which will encompass around 2000 homes, an ice hockey arena as well as office and retail facilities. The whole project, when completed, will provide homes for more than 20,000 families.

At the Nordic China Smart City Conference in Stockholm on March 26-27 the Hammarby Sjöstad Yantai project opens up for discussions with potential Nordic suppliers. White Peak is looking for suppliers which have unique, competitive, smart and proven solutions in the following areas:

- Construction technology
- Building insulation and energy saving
- HVAC and indoor air quality
- Local energy production technologies
- Waste water and waste management including recycling
- Soil decontamination
- Local mobility and logistics solutions

If you are interested in finding out if your solution could be of interest, please send an email to jonas.tornblom@envito.se. Jonas is sustainability advisor to White Peak.

Sino Nordic Ecovillage in Changsha

Nordicflexhouse (www.nordicflexhouse.dk), Baerebo AS (www.baerebo.org), China Construction 4.0 Platform (www.construct4.cn) and Hunan Modern Agricultural Group are set to establish an Ecovillage of 100.000 m2 in the city of Changsha in the Hunan Province. The Ecovillage will consist of energy efficient prefabricated houses, vertical farming, geothermal solutions, recycling of waste, water solutions and smart home solutions.

The partners have developed an Ecovillage platform that they would like to implement in Changsha and eventually in other rural areas in China. Based on the Construction 4.0 principles and China’s 5000 years of civilization, the ecovillage concept as it has been developed in Denmark for decades will be transformed to local settings and result in a livable and sustainable village.

The Ecovillage will be part of an international Eco Smart Agriculture Park, consisting of Agriculture and Villages, Greenhouses (vertical farming) and an incubation facility in a Nordic Business Park.

Nordicflexhouse therefore invites Nordic companies and organizations with technologies and competences in the following areas to join the Ecovillage project and the Eco Smart Agriculture Park:

  • Architecture and engineering
  • Wooden construction
  • Heating/Cooling, Ventilation, Air Quality, Water & Waste management & sustainable agriculture
  • Energy Conservation
  • Healthcare technologies
  • Smart community and smart home solutions
