When KI's prize for Innovation and Utilization is awarded for the first time, it goes to Professor Staffan Holmin. Staffan is Professor of Clinical Neuroimaging at the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, at Karolinska Institutet. Staffan will officially receive his prize during Karolinska Institutet´s installation ceremony/inauguration of professors. He will on October 20 tell us about his research, his implementation and his innovation journey and why he finds it so important to implement his research. YOU are most welcome to attend in the seminar hosted by KI Innovations in Innomedicum, Campus Solna

The prize committee's motivation for choosing Staffan Holmin as this year's awardee was as follows:

“Staffan Holmin has identified several clinical needs, developed strategies for taking biopsies and delivering substances extravascularly, and taken his findings to innovations and utilization. He has spread his experience and knowledge to professionals in academia and companies, and is a great inspiration for both students, colleagues, and international partners. His ability to be bridge between Karolinska Institutet, the clinic, start-ups and industry is somewhat unique and shows a high ambition for innovation and collaboration. This makes him a well-deserved recipient of the Prize for Innovation and Utilization.”
