Supporting measures to mitigate AMR in One Health settings

Context-specific and cost-effective interventions are critical if we are to prevent the spread of infectious organisms and prolong the usefulness of the drugs that tackle them. This includes concerted efforts to prevent infection in the first place as well as optimise the way we use antimicrobials in clinical and veterinary medicine, agriculture, aquaculture and food production.
These JPIAMR roundtables, hosted by the International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS), will take a deep dive into the ‘Prevention and Intervention’ pillar of the JPIAMR’s Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) to update its content and explore opportunities for refining and refocusing some of its priorities. Given the importance of a One Health perspective, the session will focus attention on human health, animal health and the environment. Drawing on inputs received from a global survey launched in April 2022, speakers will discuss gaps and opportunities nationally and internationally taking a multi-sectoral perspective. The objectives of the webinar are to:
- Reflect on the area of prevention and intervention to mitigate AMR across all sectors
- Discuss and identify gaps and opportunities to reflect on progress made over the past 5 years
- Identify areas of research which would need to be incorporated to reflect a global AMR perspective
N.B The webinar will take place over two days, with different speakers to suit multiple time zones – but the agenda will be the same.
JPIAMR is in the process of updating the JPIAMR Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda, contributing to the development of the candidate One Health AMR Partnership. This activity will support to this process by allowing us to collect gaps and needs in the area of prevention and intervention. The webinar is supported by the “CSA DESIGN OH AMR.”
