Welcome to a course in Pain management!
This two day course has been designed for veterinarians and nurses wanting to expand their knowledge in the pathophysiology of pain and get up-dated about pharmacological protocols and analgesic therapeutic techniques. The course is a mixture of formal teaching and practical sessions.


LECTURER
Theoretical lectures as well as the many practical trainings are given by experienced and knowledgeable: 
Vincenzo Rondelli, DVM, PhD and Francesca Romano, DVM. 

TARGET GROUP OCH COURSE LANGUAGE 
The course is aimed for veterinarians and nurses wanting to expand their knowledge in the pathophysiology of pain and get up-dated about pharmacological protocols and analgesic therapeutic techniques. 

Course language is English.

COURSE DESCRIPTION
During the course there will be formal teaching as well as practical trainings. During wet labs (with cadavers) the participants will train and perform important loco-regional nerves blocks (head, thorax, abdomen, limbs). For some of the practical parts the course participants will join the clinical activity of the Istituto Veterinario di Novara, where pain (type and intensity) in patients will be identified and the best analgesic protocol will be discussed. Emphasis will be on chronic and post-surgery pain.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After the course the participants will be able to:
    •    Understand the physiology of pain
    •    Recognise pain and its intensity
    •    Apply the most adequate pharmacological protocols for pain therapy
    •    Perform peripheral nerve blocks by administering local anesthetics with blind and ultrasound guided techniques

COURSE FEE
EUR 680 (excl VAT) incl. theoretical and practical lectures, digital course material, lunches, coffees and a social event with dinner. Early bird fee EUR 578 (+ VAT) available when signing up before July 15, 2019. Use the campaign code Early bird when regestering. Hotel and travel costs are not included.

REGISTRATION
To sign up to the event start by selecting quantity in the booking option below. Secondly you fill in your personal details, email address and answer the questions. Remember to assign a campaign code if available. Thirdly select payment method and fill in requested information. To finalize your booking press the button "Book" at the end. Confirm your registration by pressing the button "Confirm" in the pop-up window. Within a few minutes you will receive a booking confirmation to your email, follow the link in the email to complete your booking. Once you have done that you will receive another email with a receipt for the event. Once you have received the receipt for the event, you are registered. The course center is in the Istituto Veterinario di Novara. The istituto is approx 30 mins from Milan Malpensa airport. Information about recommended travel options and a nice hotel at a very good price is found to the right "Travels and hotels".
